Williamstown Finance Committee Votes $100,000 Budget Cut for FY23
By Stephen Dravis, iBerkshires Staff
04:02PM / Thursday, March 31, 2022
WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. — The town's fiscal 2023 budget will not account for an increase in the town's health insurance costs after the Finance Committee on Wednesday directed the town manager to slash the line item for health insurance by $100,000.   Interim Town Manager Charlie Blanchard had budgeted for the cost increase after Berkshire Health Group announced that it needed to raise premiums it passes along to member municipal entities by 8 percent in the next fiscal year.   To help cushion the blow to the 31 towns and school districts it serves, the BHG board in January voted to give its members a one-month "premium holiday" in FY23 and cover the difference

02:17PM / Wednesday, March 30, 2022
WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. — The chair of the committee that governs the fire district warned that the district's fiscal year 2023 budget would not be a "slam dunk" for voter approval this spring.   John Notsley asked his fellow Prudential Committee members to hold a special meeting on April 13 to focus on the budget the committee will present to residents at the May 24 annual district meeting.    "We have three heavy duty things the fire district is faced with," Notsley said at last week's virtual meeting. 05:43AM / Wednesday, March 30, 2022

Some are held by more than one person, like Select Board member Jeffrey Johnson, who also serves on the Diversity, Inclusion and Racial Equity Committee, but, for argument's sake, he assumed at Monday's meeting that each seat might carry a stipend in any

Neathawk installed the sign late Monday afternoon that features multicolored hand prints from the children as the leaves of a tree poking out of the top.
