Clark Art Hosts Williams College Chamber Music Gala

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. — On Friday, Dec. 8 at 7 pm the Clark Art Institute hosts a concert by the Williams College Music Department.    The Chamber Music Gala presents an afternoon of chamber music. The program of piano, string, and wind chamber music showcases students performing selections from their spring semester chamber music collaborations.    This free concert takes place in the Clark's auditorium, located in the Manton Research Center.   Free; no registration is required. Clark Art Hosts Morningside Student Poets

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. — On Saturday, Dec. 2 at noon, the Clark Art Institute hosts student poets from Morningside Community Elementary School, Pittsfield, Massachusetts, who will recite their work during a celebratory reception for a student poetry project that is currently installed on the Clark's grounds. Williamstown Holiday Walk Weekend Returns Friday

Clark Art Participates in Williamstown's Holiday Walk Weekend

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. — The Clark Art Institute joins in the community-wide celebration of the holidays during Williamstown's 40th Annual Holiday Walk weekend, held the first weekend in December.    The Clark kicks off the festivities on Dec. 1 with a live concert by Johnny Irion and U.S. Elevator. Williamstown Planning Board Adopts Comprehensive Plan

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. — A little more than two years after appointing a committee to write the document, the Planning Board last week formally adopted the updated town comprehensive plan.   On a vote of 4-1, the five-person board endorsed the 70-page final draft of "Envisioning Williamstown 2035," which replaces the planning document previously known as the town master plan, last drafted in 2002.   Ben Greenfield was the lone dissenting vote in approving the wide-ranging document, which discusses the current conditions in the town and lays out a wide range of municipal aspirations in areas ranging from housing to conservation to transportation.   Shortly before

Lee High School graduate Elizabeth Brown was named to the all-Massachusetts State College Athletic Conference first team this fall.   Brown, a sophomore at MCLA, led the Trailblazers in digs, with 3.27 per set, and was third on the team in kills with 2.29 per set.   She played in all 26 of MCLA's matches, starting 25, and had a season-high 18 kills in a five-set loss to Westfield State.   Brown was named second-team all-league last fall after her first season at MCLA.   Her former Lee teammate and current MCLA teammate MaKayla Schuerer appeared in 15 matches for MCLA (21-5) in her first year on the squad.
