Williamstown Select Board Finds Diversity Training Program for Town Personnel

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. — The Select Board on Monday expressed its commitment to provide ongoing diversity, equity and inclusion training for town employees.   And the board members promised in a formal statement to participate in that training themselves.   Andy Hogeland and Jeff Johnson took the lead on finding a firm to train town personnel in how to treat one another and members of the public in a way that upholds DEI values — as mandated by a pair of articles overwhelmingly passed by town meeting in 2020.   "We discovered three or four months ago there was a gap in our DEI training," Hogeland said Monday. Mount Greylock District Takes First-Year 'Hit' in New Bus Contract

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. — The Mount Greylock Regional School Committee on Monday OK'd a three-year contract with Dufour Tours to continue to provide transportation services for the three-school district.   On a vote of 5-0 with Christina Conry and Jose Constantine unable to make the start of the special afternoon session, the committee ratified a deal with an 8 percent increase for fiscal 2023 over the rate paid in the 12-month period that ends on Thursday.   "But it does stay flat in years two and three," Business Administrator Joe Bergeron told the committee. SVMC Celebrates Accredited Nursing Residency Graduates

BENNINGTON, Vt. — Southwestern Vermont Medical Center (SVMC), part of Southwestern Vermont Health Care (SVHC), graduated eight nurses from its Transition-to-Practice Nurse Residency Program.    The program is the first program in the state and one of only 208 in the United States to have received accreditation from the American Nurses Credentialing Center's Practice Transition Accreditation Program for nurses working in the medical-surgical, women's and children's, and emergency departments. Clark Art Features 'Rodin in the United States'

'Monument to Balzac' is on display off the museum's lobby.  WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. — One of the largest exhibits of the works of Auguste Rodin seen in the United States in the past 40 years is now on view at the Clark Art Institute.    The exhibit consists of 50 sculptures and 25 drawings from American museums and private collections that collectively demonstrate the story of the collectors, agents, art historians, and critics who worked to make Rodin known in America.    Although there have been many exhibits on Rodin, less attention has been directed to toward the French modernist's legacy in the United States. SVHC COVID Resource Center Will Discontinue Testing

BENNINGTON, Vt. — As the number of COVID-19 cases continues to decrease and the supply of rapid antigen tests has stabilized, the need for polymerase chain reaction (PCR) testing has declined dramatically.   Federal funding for centralized testing has ceased. In addition, most workplaces and travel destinations no longer require PCR testing. SVHC Honors the SVMC ICU Team with DAISY Team Award
