WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. — Images Cinema announced a new film series, Civic Cinema, which examines American society through a hopeful and pragmatic lens. The series consists of three films fresh off the film festival circuit: "Bad Faith" (9/23), "Join or Die" (9/30), and "Girls State" (10/7). Williamstown Works to Address Water Main BreaksiBerkshires.com Staff,

 WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. – The Department of Public Works Wednesday afternoon worked to address two water main breaks on the east end of Main Street. Both breaks were near the Spruces Park on Main Street (Route 2), and Williamstown Police advised in a social media post that water services in the area could be affected. Residents signed up for the town’s CodeRED emergency notification system also received a phone call alerting them to the issue. The water main breaks came on a busy day for emergency services in the town. Williamstown Community Chest Fun Run Returns Sept. 28Community submission,

 WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. – The Williamstown Community Chest will hold its 16th Fun Run on Saturday, Sept. 28. This community event consists of two races, a 5K run and a 1-mile kids’ run/family walk. The Fun Run races are open to everyone, veteran or first-time runners, and daily or occasional walkers. Families with pets and strollers are also welcome to participate. Both race events begin at 9 a.m. at the Williamstown Youth Center, 66 School St. Sign-in and registration begin at 8:15 a.m. on the day of the race. WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. — The Planning Board last week discussed a number of proposals it hopes to bring forward to town meeting and acknowledged that at least one likely won't be ready in time for this May's annual meeting. The latest in a series of Planning Board initiatives to allow a greater variety of housing options in town has them looking at an Open Space Residential Development bylaw. WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. — A three-term member of the board, a teacher at Mount Greylock Regional School and a town native have stepped forward to fill an interim position on the Select Board. The vacancy came up this summer when Andrew Hogeland announced that he and his wife are moving out of town. He was not specific about the exact date of his departure but encouraged his remaining four colleagues to find a replacement as soon as possible.
