Village Ambulance sent us this information. Keep their campaign in mind if you're cleaning out closets and have coats you no longer need.
Village Ambulance Service is gearing up for our annual Food and Coat drive for 2011. Please consider donating any jacket (clean and in usable condition), as well as any nonperishable food item to our endeavor. Many times our families have to make a choice whether to buy coats for their kids or pay rent. The coats we receive will make that decision an easier one.

We are excited to report that we are joining forces with the Williamstown Council on Aging for our upcoming Coat Drive. We are planning a collection day for Tuesday, Nov. 1, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Harper Center, 118 Church St.; however, we are more than happy to collect throughout the year using our ambulance headquarters as the collection center.

As always, all nonperishable food items can be dropped off at our ambulance headquarters, 30 Water St., any time. Our collection bin in set up immediately inside our main entrance.
