No Injuries Reported After Police Fire Weapons During Search

Noble Avenue was closed for most of the day on Friday. PITTSFIELD, Mass. — Police officers shot at a man while executing a search warrant on West Housatonic Street on Friday morning but there were no injuries.   According to the district attorney's office, while the Berkshire Law Enforcement Task Force executed a search warrant relating to drug activity, 23-year-old Marcel Teixeira-Ingram Jr. was seen pointing a handgun at officers. Pittsfield Couple Dies In Early Morning Fire

The home caught fire shortly before 4 a.m. PITTSFIELD, Mass. — An elderly couple died in an early morning fire on Bryan Street Thursday.   Shortly before 4 a.m., an electrical cord short-circuited and set the home at 71 Bryan St. on fire. The three occupants — the couple and their daughter — woke up to heavy smoke on the first floor. Pittsfield Firefighters Quickly Knock Out North Street Fire

The multi-family building is at the corner of North and Edgewood.

PITTSFIELD, Mass. — Pittsfield firefighters were able to quickly knock down a fire that started in the back of 823 North St. on Wednesday morning.

Fire Chief Robert Czerwinski said crews got the call at 9:11 that heavy smoke was showing at the back of the multi-family house on the corner of Edgewood Road, just north of Berkshire Medical Center. North Street near the hospital was closed temporarily as a result.

UPDATE: Suspected Pittsfield Arsonist Apprehended

Phillip Jordan was arraigned in Vermont on Monday afternoon on a fugitive from justice charge and is being held on $25,000 bail. A not-guilty plea was entered on his behalf and his case was continued pending an examination to determine his competency to participate in court proceedings regarding his fugitive status.

Jordan is facing three counts of burning a dwelling house in connection with fires at homes on Appleton Avenue, Ridge Avenue and Fort Hill Avenue in Pittsfield on Saturday. The investigation is continuing and more charges may be pending.

Man Arrested After Berkshire Bank Robbery Monday Morning

A sign on the door alerted customers that the branch is closed for the day. PITTSFIELD, Mass. — Pittsfield Police were able to apprehend the suspected robber of a Berkshire Bank branch within hours of the crime Monday morning.   At about 10:50 in the morning, officers responded to a reported robbery of Berkshire Bank branch on Elm Street.   Two hours later, police arrested 37-year-old Christopher Rock in connection with the crime.   Police say the suspect showed a note to a teller demanding money "in certain denominations" and then fled on foot with an undetermined amount of cash.    The suspect
