Woman Arrested In Pittsfield Stabbing

PITTSFIELD, Mass. — A 27-year-old woman has been arrested for allegedly stabbing a 34-year-old man on Madison Avenue.   Police say Nakesha Peltier-Tarrance is being charged with assault and battery by means of a dangerous weapon and is currently being held on $10,000 bail related to the incident Monday morning.    Police say officers were dispatched to the area of Madison Avenue and Seymour Street at 10:42 a.m. for a reported disturbance and stabbing. On arrival, officers encountered Peltier-Tarrance and the victim, who was suffering from multiple stab wounds to the upper chest.    Officers administered first aid and the man was

Pittsfield Police Investigating Murder On Edward Avenue

PITTSFIELD, Mass. — Police are investigating a homicide on Edward Avenue.   Authorities were called to the location shortly after 2 a.m. for a report of a shooting. Upon arrival, a man was found with a gunshot wound and was pronounced dead on the scene.    The victim's name is currently being withheld by Police. Pickup Truck Collides With Trestle Foundation in North Adams

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — A driver is facing charges after smashing head-on into the train trestle foundation on Church Street.    The accident occurred at around 6:30 p.m. on Friday and initially was reported as happening on Ashland Street.    The gray Dodge Dakota pickup was headed south on Church Street when it veered across the northbound lane to strike the corner of the massive stone block foundation. The truck incurred significant front-end damage.    Police say speed appeared to be a factor and that the driver would be facing charges. Pittsfield Home Damaged When Car Hit Porch

The concern for first responders was the potential weigh being put on the roof of the porch when the snow storm comes this weekend. PITTSFIELD, Mass. — A Wellington Avenue home was damaged when a vehicle collided with the porch Friday night.   The operator of the black Chevy Cobalt with at least one, possibly two, other passengers got out of the vehicle and left the scene.   Police were searching for those involved at about 6 p.m.   It appears the operator was going eastbound on Maplewood and failed to navigate the turn onto Wellington, slid off the road, and then crashed into the porch.   The stairs leading to

Fire Displaces Four Pittsfield Families

The flames poked through the roof of the building but Engine 5's crew controlled the blaze.

PITTSFIELD, Mass. — Four families are displaced after a fire caused significant damage to a Cherry Street apartment building.

But quick work and awareness from the firefighters ultimately saved the building.
