TERRY A LA BERRY AND FRIENDS

Terry a la Berry and Friends perform every Tuesday through Aug. 21 in the Roche Reading Park next to the library. An ice cream social will be held after the August 21 concert. Terry A La Berry has been performing for children for more than 30 years in venues stretching from the White House to the Miami Children’s Museum and everywhere in between.

Williamstown, 1-4 p.m.
In celebration of the summer exhibits “Women Artists in Paris, 1850–1900” and “The Art of Iron: Objects from the Musée Le Secq des Tournelles, Rouen, Normandy,” the Clark Art Institute invites families for free, weekly art-making sessions on Wednesdays and Thursdays beginning Wednesday, July 11, and continuing through Thursday, Aug. 30. Clark educators provide all materials for the workshops, which are held outdoors in the visitors’ picnic tent near the reflecting pools. These activities are weather dependent.

LET'S GET READY FOR KINDERGARTEN
Lenox, 10:30-11:30 a.m.
South Berkshire Kids presents Let's Get Ready for Kindergarten, a weekly caregiver/child program for children who will be entering kindergarten or preK in the fall, at the Lenox Library. Each week we will be working on a different skill: letter and number recognition, print awareness, social skills, fine motor skills, and so much more. This program will include a circle time with stories, songs and felt board followed by table top activities and crafts. No registration necessary; great for ages 4-6.

PARENT AND TIKES MINI HIKE
Clarksburg, 10 to 11 a.m.
Parent and Tikes Mini Hike Wednesday, July 18 from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. Clarksburg State Park, 199 Middle Road, Clarksburg. *Program starts at 10. Take a right when entering the park into the day use area and drive to the lower lot by the pavilion. We are meeting at the pavilion. Let the attendant know you are there for the Family Center program. The path is suitable for sturdy strollers (dirt and gravel road). The hike is about 0.5 miles. Parent Marcia Bailey will lead the group on this short easy hike to the dam.  Suitable walking shoes or sneakers are a must. Snack will be provided. Please call 413-664-4821 to let us know if you can attend or if you have any questions NOTE: There will be NO Terrific Tots on this day.

ScienceTellers presents “Wild West: The Mystery of the Golden Piano” in the Lenox Library. A legendary bank-robbing outlaw is back in town, about to strike again! After the Sheriff mysteriously vanishes, two young kids must saddle up to foil the great heist — but not before stopping a runaway train, escaping an abandoned mine shaft and discovering how a mysterious piano can play an ‘instrumental' part in putting a rotten cowboy back behind bars.

UKULELE STORY TIME

The Adams Free Library’s Summer Reading Program “Libraries Rock!” presents fun-filled Ukulele story times with guest Julie Stepanek on July 6, July 13 and July 20. Stepanek is an accomplished musician and singer. She has been working with area libraries for many years, educating and entertaining old and young alike. An adult must accompany children under 8 years of age. Library events are free and open to the public.

BIDWELL HOUSE FAMILY TOUR

The Bidwell House Museum will offer a Family Tour designed for families with children 12 and under.  This new tour will explore the Bidwell House from the perspective of Adonijah Bidwell’s children, who would have been the first youngsters to live in the house. Using games, conversations and activities, this interactive walk through the house will teach visitors how people lived in the Berkshires hundreds of years ago while also finding connections to life today. The fee for this tour is the same as general admission, $10 adults, $8 seniors, $5 student 13-18, free for children 12 and under.
