BOOKS, BALLS, BEADS AND BLOCKS- AGES AND STAGES EVENT
North Adams, 10:30 to 11:30 a.m.
Books, Balls, Beads and Blocks- Ages and Stages Event–September 21 from 10:30-11:30 am. A free, fun interactive event providing developmental screening for children 1 to 5 years old. Children will visit play stations while parents fill out the ASQ questionnaire for their child’s age range. Staff will follow up with individual parents to share the screening results.  Please call and register at 413-664-4821.

MOVIES UNDER THE STARS AT COLEGROVE PARK
North Adams, dusk (approx 7:30PM)
Join us in the park for our 2nd Annual Movies Under the Stars summer series in Colegrove Park, North Adams. All movies are free and open to the public. This year’s theme is the “Year of the Dog.” All movies are family-friendly. This series is generously sponsored by Adams Community Bank, presented by the City of North Adams Tourism, and supported by the North Adams Movieplex. Colegrove Park is located on north Church Street between Main St. and Route 2. Note: No bathrooms on site.

FAMILY NATURE HIKE
Clarksburg, 11:00 a.m. to Noon
Family Nature Hike Friday, September 28 from 11:00 – 12:00 p.m. at Clarksburg State Park, 199 Middle Road in Clarksburg. Emilee and Marcia will lead the group on this short easy hike to the dam.  The path is suitable for sturdy strollers. Plan to wear footwear for walking. A snack will be provided.  Call 413-664-4821 to let us know if you can attend or sign up at playgroups. Learn some simple relaxation and breathing exercises.

A day of free events for all ages   11am TALK - David Mazower: “The Lodz Masterpieces: 3 Jewish Women’s Art Books Revealed” Yiddish Book Center Bibliographer David Mazower reveals the story behind three exquisite limited-edition art books. Published in Lodz in 1921, they were hand-colored by Ida Broyner, Ester Karp and Dina Matus - a trio of young Jewish women artists fresh out of art school and today all but unknown. 11:30am-1pm | Yiddish Print Shop demonstration 12:15pm | Tour of the Yiddish Book Center 2pm CONCERT - Litvakus The Litvakus repertoire is a mix of traditional Belarusian and Litvak (Belarusian Jewish) folk music, as well as contemporary pieces written in the spirit of roots music. GUIDING GOOD CHOICES PARENT WORKSHOP
North Adams, 4 - 6 p.m.
North Adams Public Schools Welcome Center, 20 Brayton Hill Terrace Parents are the number 1 reason kids choose not to use alcohol and drugs. This free 2 hour workshop teaches parents the skills to help talk to their kids about alcohol and drug use. Learn how to be a source of good information and learn the results of the local student health survey. The American Academy of Pediatricians recommends parents talk to their kids about alcohol by age 9. Registration is required; call the Northern Berkshire Community Coalition at (413) 663-7588 to reserve your spot. Childcare and transportation is available upon request.
