WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. — June (Richmond) Ogert, 88, formerly of Williamstown, Mass., died on Saturday, February 11, 2017, at Lakewood Ranch Medical Center in Bradenton, Fla., after a brief illness.
She was born in Williamstown on June 10, 1928 a daughter to the late William and Anna (Langner) Richmond. She attended Williamstown High School, graduating with the class of 1946. She then went on to attend Bay Path Secretarial School for Women in Longmeadow, Mass. In 1960, she and her family moved to Sterling, Mass.
She enjoyed cake decorating, sewing, and sketch drawing. She also taught dancing for many years, working as a round dance teacher and cuer.
June was the widow of William Ogert, who died in February 2002. They were married on October 1, 1947, in St. John's Episcopal Church in Williamstown.
Survivors include two sons, Donald and Christopher Ogert; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; as well as three sisters, Shirley St. Pierre and her husband, Ovila "Sonny," Elaine Anderson and Sandra Schryver, all of Williamstown; and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by two sons, William V. Ogert Jr. and Glenn Ogert; as well as a sister, Ruth Richmond, who died in 1993.
Funeral notice: A funeral service to celebrate the lives of William and June Ogert will take place on Friday, May 26, 2017, at 11 a.m. at St. John's Episcopal Church in Williamstown. Burial with military honors will follow in Eastlawn Cemetery.
