Richard F. Daniels, 73

July 19, 2017


WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. — Richard Frederick Daniels, 73, of Williamstown, Mass., died Wednesday, July 19, 2017, at Berkshire Medical Center.



He was born in North Adams, Mass., on February 14, 1944, son of James Frederick and Rachel Shirley (Cummings) Daniels. He graduated from Mt. Greylock Regional High School in 1962 and also completed an automotive program.



Richard was employed by Steinerfilm Inc. for 32 years until his retirement. He was a member of St. John's Episcopal Church in Williamstown and the Williams Lodge of Masons. Richard enjoyed working on cars, camping and flea markets and especially enjoyed spending time at the ocean in Maine. He was devoted to his family and enjoyed reminiscing with friends.



Survivors include his wife, Margaret Elaine (Maconga) Daniels, whom he married on May 2, 1964; one daughter, Tracy Lee Skidmore and her husband Louis of Pittsfield; one son, Richard Frederick Daniels Jr. and his wife Dawn of Williamstown; three grandchildren, William James Daniels, Michael Francis Daniels and Morissa Kathleen Daniels; three great-grandchildren, Aubrey Kate Daniels, Cooper James Daniels and Riley Beaumont; and nieces and nephews.



His brother James F. Daniels Jr. is deceased.



Funeral notice: The funeral for Richard Daniels will be Tuesday, July 25, 2017, at 11 a.m. at St. John's Episcopal Church in Williamstown. Burial will follow in Eastlawn Cemetery.



Calling hours are Monday, July 24, 2017, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, West Chapel, 521 West Main St., North Adams, Mass. Memorial donations may be made to Shriner's Children's Hospital or the American Diabetes Association in care of the funeral home.

Dick was such a great guy. Always had a smile on his face. I got to work with him for 18 years.
He will be sadly missed by all
