Edward M. Bailey, 81

July 20, 2017


WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. — Edward Michael Bailey, 81, of Williamstown, Mass., died Thursday July 20, 2017, at Berkshire Medical Center.



He was born in Pittsfield, Mass., on October 17, 1935, son of Edward S. and Lucy (Cultrera) Bailey. He graduated from Pittsfield High School and received a bachelor's degree from Bryant College in Rhode Island.  



Edward was a veteran of the Korean War and served in the U.S. Navy. He was the proprietor of the Amber Fox in Williamstown until his retirement and was a board member and volunteer at BCAC. Edward enjoyed bowling and playing pool and especially enjoyed spending time with his daughters and grandchildren and antiquing.



Survivors include his wife, Carolyn Joan (Miller) Bailey, whom he married in August 1965; two daughters, Karylee A. Doubiago of Adams and Tracie L. Bailey of Williamstown; five grandchildren, Joshua Doubiago, Christopher Doubiago, Jessica Doubiago, Katie Fisk and Sarah Fisk; and his brother and sister-in-law, James and Patricia (Cody) Miller of Loudon, Tenn.



His granddaughter Kristina Marie Fisk died April 1, 2015; and his sister, Marion Trasatti is deceased.  



Funeral notice: A prayer service for Edward Bailey will be held Wednesday, July 26, 2017, at 11 a.m. at Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, West Chapel, 521 West Main St. North Adams, Mass. Burial will follow in Eastlawn Cemetery. A calling hour at the funeral home will be held Wednesday morning from 10 to 11 a.m.

Ed was a new and wonderful friend when Terry and I needed his help. He and his family pitched in and helped us out. We shared laughter and good times. We will miss him.
