John P. Crase, 95

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. — John P. Crase, 95, formerly of 25 Elliott Dr., Williamstown, passed away peacefully at the Vermont Veterans home in Bennington, Vt., on Saturday, October 14, 2017.
John was born on January 31, 1922, in Faraday, Ky. He joined the Marines at the beginning of World War II and fought in the battle of Guadalcanal. He achieved the rank of platoon sergeant and was discharged after World War II.
John met the love of his life, Livia Franceschetti, in Monroe Bridge, Mass. They married two days before Pearl Harbor and were married for 71 years John joined Sprague Electric Company and retired as a corporate manager after more than 40 years.
He was actively involved in the Gray Panthers of Williams College and the Faculty Club.
John's beloved wife Livia passed away on November 11, 2012.
He leaves a son, James Crase Of Hemet, Calif.; daughter Karen Fuller of Windsor, Mass.; grandchildren Keith Fuller, Stephanie Moritz, Jennifer Lewis, Jason Crase, Allison Hardy and Vanessa Gilmore; and eight great-grandchildren.
John will be remembered as a devoted and loving husband, father, and grandfather.
Funeral notice: A private memorial service will be held at a later date. Any donations in John's memory may be sent to the Vermont Veterans Home, Bennington, Vt. Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals is in charge of the arrangements.
Deepest sympathy on the passing of your father. Your parents and my late husband , Bill, and I had many a good time together. I loved to hear your mother laugh and to talk politics with your Dad. They are sorely missed.
