WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. — Harry Lewis Blake, 68, of Williamstown, Mass., died on Friday, November 24, 2017, at North Adams Commons.
He was born in North Adams, Mass., on October 9, 1949, a son of the late Harry T. and Ilona (Harwood) Blake.
Mr. Blake attended Mount Greylock High School and graduated in 1970. In his younger years, he was a member of the Williamstown Police Department Auxiliary. He was employed at the Sterling & Francine Clark Art Institute as an Assistant Exhibition Coordinator, where he worked for the past 35 years. He was also a member of the Stamford Sportsman Club. He loved hunting with his nephews and fishing with his nephews and grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife, Margaret “Peggy” (Gardner) Blake, whom he married on June 15, 1973. He also leaves his daughters, Heather Blake and her husband, Jeffrey Hillard, of North Adams, and Jennifer Richardson and her husband, Adam, of Brockport, N.Y.; grandchildren Zachary, Haleigh and Joyelle; sister Sarah Felix of North Adams; brother Russell G. Blake of North Adams; as well as nephews John and Rusty Blake.
He was predeceased by his sister, Karen Donnelly.
Funeral notice: A funeral service to celebrate the life of Harry Blake will be held on Tuesday, November 28, 2017, at 11 a.m. at Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, West Chapel, 521 West Main St., North Adams, MA 01247. The burial for Mr. Blake will be private.
A calling hour will be held Tuesday morning from 10 to 11 a.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory can be made to either the Cancer Center at Berkshire Medical Center or the Greylock Animal Hospital Angel Fund.
