Wendy M. McCarthy, 53

April 19, 2018


WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. — Wendy Marie (Roy) McCarthy, 53, of Williamstown, Mass., died on Thursday, April 19, 2018, at her home. 



She was born in Pittsfield, Mass., on March 8, 1965, a daughter of the late Hervey and Kathryn (Banas) Roy. Wendy attended local schools and graduated from McCann Technical High School. She went on to become a Licensed Practical Nurse. In her younger years, she worked as an LPN at Sweet Brook Rehabilitation & Nursing Center. She went on to work in the office of Dr’s. Oakley and Scott Frost in Bennington, Vt., where she worked for many years. She was last employed as a private duty nurse.



Wendy was a very strong, caring and nurturing person, and she was incredibly devoted to her family. She was a great cook and loved tending to her gardens. She was a communicant of Sts. Patrick and Raphael Parish.



Survivors include her husband, Robert E. McCarthy III, whom she married in September of 1983. She also leaves her daughters, Jessica McCarthy and her partner, Jim McGoldrick, of Cape Cod and Ashley McCarthy and her fiance, Mark Gazaille, of Milford, Conn.; grandchildren Connor McGoldrick and Addison Gazaille; brother Christopher Roy; several nieces and nephews, including Cory Roy; as well as brothers- and sisters-in-law.



She was predeceased by her brother, Michael Roy.



Funeral notice: A funeral service to celebrate the life of Wendy McCarthy will be held on Thursday, April 26, 2018, at 11 a.m. at the Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, West Chapel, 521 West Main St., North Adams, MA 01247. Calling hours will be held at the funeral home from 9 a.m. until the time of the service. 



Burial will follow in Eastlawn Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals in her memory.
