Matthew E. Heyer, 50

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. — Mr. Matthew E. Heyer, 50, of Williamstown passed away on Thursday, January 4, 2019, from the result of a motor vehicle accident. 



Born in New York, N.Y., on December 28, 1968, the son of Anne MacLean Bell and the late Richard Heyer, he was a graduate of New Lebanon High School.



Matt was the former manager of Firestone Tire in Pittsfield. He was a NASCAR fan and loved animals.



Besides his mother of Williamstown, he is survived by his aunts, Edna Donohue of North Carolina and Elizabeth Strong of California; cousins James Strong of the Czech Republic, Linda Trezza and Sara Traynor, both of Long Island, and Kenneth Donohue of North Caroline; as well as his huge extended family of "children" and lifetime friends.



Funeral notice: There will be no formal calling hours for Matt; instead, the family will host a time for friends to share memories and to come and go as they please at the Dwyer Funeral Home Friday on January 11, 2019, from 4 to 7 p.m. 



Burial will be at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Berkshire Humane Society in care of the Dwyer Funeral Home, 776 North St., Pittsfield, MA 01201 in his memory.
