Edward LaPlante, 89

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. — Edward Terrance "Terry" LaPlante, 89, of Pines Lodge Park, Williamstown, died Saturday, January 19, 2019, at the Williamstown Commons.



Terry was born in Albany, New York, on July 29, 1929, a son of the late Eli and Mary Alice (O'Brien) LaPlante. He attended schools in Williamstown and graduated from the former Williamstown High School with the class of 1948.



Mr. LaPlante was a self-employed electrical contractor for more than 30 years and the proprietor of LaPlante's Electrical Services. He enjoyed hunting, sailing and fishing.



His wife Elizabeth Ellen (Haley) LaPlante, whom he married August 5, 1950, in St. Patrick's Church in Williamstown, died July 10, 2017.



Survivors include two sons, David E. LaPlante and his wife Dawn and Michael J. LaPlante and his fiancee Tracie Bailey, both of Williamstown; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and former daughter-in-law Jackie DeMarsico.



Terry was predeceased by a son, Terrance LaPlante; daughter Leslie Antinick; and a brother, Francis LaPlante.



Funeral notice: Funeral services for Edward "Terry" LaPlante will take place Friday, January 25, 2019, at 11 a.m. at the Sherman Burbank Memorial Chapel on Main Street in Williamstown, Mass. Burial will follow in Westlawn Cemetery Williamstown, Mass. Memorial donations are suggested for SPCA through the Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, West Chapel, 521 West Main St., North Adams, Mass.

Dear David, Michael and Family,
I am sending my deepest sympathy to all of you.Your Dad was a wonderful guy. We always had such good times with him and Betty at Pownal Post 90 American Legion. He will be deeply missed.
