WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. - Larrie Ann "Mimi" Noyes, 78, died on January 2, 2020.

Mother of four, grandmother of eight and great-grandmother to several several great-grandchildren, she was a woman with no shortage of common sense wisdom and idioms who was quick to offer an opinion - whether solicited or not. She cared deeply for her nuclear family and the extended family she created around her through her many years of running an at home daycare. There was never a baby whose cheeks did not get peppered with kisses and felt the warmth of hugs from a woman once described as a human security blanket. That was her gift. One of her greatest life accomplishments was teaching all those whose lives she touched what unconditional love is. She always knew when a child was in need of a hug or kiss and provided emotional support without hesitation.

The idioms were frequent, as were the signs dotting her house of life's little lessons - things such as "Life may not be the party we asked for, but while we are here might as well dance." She often expressed that there wasn't a lot of material wealth at home, but it was full of love! It was a home that she lived in most of her life and meant so much to her as her father, who passed before her own birth, built the house.

Born on August 25, 1941, she was the daughter of Lawrence and Carrie (Dorvillier) Reopell. She was the youngest of Lawrence and Carrie's five children: Barbara (Reopell) Martin, Richard Reopell, Nelson Reopell and William Reopell. She graduated from Williamstown High School in 1959 and soon after met the love of her life, William C. Noyes (Bill). They were married on October 31, 1959. They wasted no time in starting a family, as they welcomed their first child Carrie Elizabeth soon after. Three more children were to follow: Timothy Landry, Holly Ann and Matthew William. She often remarked that all she ever wanted to be was a wife and a mother. She proved to be exactly that to her husband of 60 years and their children. She provided her children with the freedom to experience life in an unhindered manner by embracing life experiences and allowing them the freedom to grow. Often her children would hear, "It's not a mistake, if you learn from it."

There were countless adventures that she and Bill experienced through their 60 years together. It was a marriage of teamwork, ups and downs, and laughs and tears. While in their presence you knew you were witnessing the truest form of devotion, unbridled love and friendship. They were true soulmates.

Mimi had a larger-than-life personality and made friends wherever she was. She was often striking up a conversation with strangers and learning a whole life story. She made folks feel at ease with her bubbly personality and straightforward thinking.

She is predeceased by her son Timothy; her brothers Richard and William; and her sister Barbara.

She is survived by her husband, William C. Noyes of Williamstown; her brother Nelson and wife Joan of Pittsfield; daughter Carrie Hall and husband Skip of Maryland; daughter Holly Noyes of Williamstown; son Matthew Noyes and wife Greta, also of Williamstown; as well as daughter-in-law Brenda Noyes of North Adams. She will be sorely missed by her grandchildren Ashley and Brittany (Carrie), Stephanie, Elizabeth, and Sarah (Timothy), Sam (Holly), and Liam and Finnegan (Matthew).
