  WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. — Mount Greylock Regional School's athletic director last week appeared before the school committee to explain a program change that has riled some seventh-grade parents at the middle-high school.   Lindsey von Holtz laid out the reasoning behind a move announced in August to open the school's baseball program to students in eighth grade and up, rather than allowing seventh-graders, as was done the last few years.   Like other schools that have middle schoolers in the same building with high school students, Mount Greylock is allowed to open athletic opportunities to the younger grades according to the rules of the Massachusetts

LANESBOROUGH, Mass. -- Former Pittsfield Cub star Bryan House will be “Talkin’ Baseball” at the Baseball in the Berkshires museum at the Berkshire Mall on Saturday, Feb. 16.   The former pro will meet and greet attendees and sign autographs free of charge as part of the museum’s Talkin’ Baseball program.   Attendees also will be able to have their picture taken with House, who will appear from 3 to 4 p.m.   The museum is located in the Berkshire Mall.

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. -- The MCLA softball program this winter will host a pair of clinics that will focus on skill development of a wide range of age levels.   The first clinic is for youth players aged 7-13 and will be held on Feb. 24. The second clinic is set for March 3 and will be for high school student-athletes.   Registration is required for both clinics.
