WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. — Sweetwood of Williamstown Retirement Living Community will host a concert  on Thursday, Sept. 8, to benefit those affected by the flooding at the Spruces Mobile Home Park caused by Tropical Storm Irene.

The performances begin at 5 p.m. at Sweetwood and include Berkshire County band Blueberry Buckle Trio, singer-songwriter Jack Waldheim and others. Suggested donation is $10, however, any amount will be accepted for this benefit concert.

"The Williamstown community is stepping up to support those who have been impacted by Irene, and Sweetwood is no exception," said Executive Director John Krol. "In addition to working to provide temporary living arrangements for some of those left without a home, we're hopeful that Sweetwood can serve as a venue to support our neighbors in need. We encourage everyone to come out to this event."

Blueberry Buckle, formerly known as the Byrne Trio, is Tom Byrne on guitar, bass and the occasional wind instrument, and his two young daughters, Cate on violin and Savannah on drums, performing a mix of classical, fiddle and pop. Together, they have played dozens of shows at a variety of venues and events including the Readsboro (Vt.) Arts Festival, North Adams Co-operative Art Gallery, the former Petrino's Cafe, St. Anne's Lawn Party, fundraisers for Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts and the United Way, the Lenox Apple Squeeze, Pittsfield's Third Thursdays, the Berkshires Art Festival and Williamstown's Sundays at Six.

Waldheim's alt-country style has made him a popular performer in venues throughout the Berkshires and beyond. His most recent album, "On Second Thought," includes some of his most popular original songs, ranging from touching country ballads to foot-stomping rock 'n' roll.
