Improv Event to Benefit Spruces Residents03:04PM / Thursday, September 08, 2011 | |
WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. — Brian Flagg and Beck's Printing will present "A Night of Improv and Comedy" at Mount Greylock Regional High School from 7 to 9 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 19, to benefit the Spruces Mobile Home Park residents.
The evening will feature performers from the Royal Berkshire Improv Troupe and local actors. The event is designed to aid Spruces residents who were displaced during Tropical Storm Irene, which caused devastating flooding.
Performed in the style of the popular television show "Whose Line Is It Anyway," the evening will surely provide laughs for everyone. There will be skits performed at random, the actors having not seen or performed the material previously.
"When I heard about what happened at The Spruces I wanted to help," said event organizer Flagg, of North Adams. "I love the show 'Whose Line Is It Anyway' and I thought it would be a great way to try and bring people together and help these folks out."
Tickets for the event can be purchased ahead of time or at the door. The cost is $15 and all proceeds will go to the Spruces recovery effort.
In lieu of attendance, donations of any amount are also being accepted. For more information on how you can help or to purchase tickets call 413-281-0069 or email improvforspruces@gmail.com.
