40th Annual Adams Agricultural Fair Runs This Weekend

ADAMS, Mass. — The 40th Agricultural Fair returns this weekend at Bowe Field.

Berkshire County’s only country fair features rides, food vendors, games, animals and various competitions. The event kicked off with the annual Battle of the Bands on Thursday night.

The three-day fair official starts Friday evening at 5:45 with the “Up in the Air Discdogger” show, followed by the cruise-in when street rods, classic and custom vehicles, and Jeeps will be on display at 6.

At 6:30 p.m., there will be a knife-throwing show followed by “Bits and Pieces” dance and easy listening music, and the Children's Pedal Tractor Contest at 7.

Events start a bit earlier on Saturday at 10 with the judging of adult sheep and goats. At the same time there will be a Jeep obstacle course. After these events, there will be the crowning of the Aggie Fair Prince and Princess and the horse pull at 11.

At noon there will be a truck pull followed by a sheep dog demonstration at 12:30. At 1 there will be a birds of prey program.

In the evening starting at 4 there will be a tractor pull and the band Phil 'n the Void will play. At 7, the Berkshire County Line Dancers will perform and another truck pull will take place. At 8, Tommy T & Black Velvet will perform.

Sunday’s events kick off at 11 a.m. with the ox pull. The ever-popular demolition derby starts at 2, rain or shine.

The award ceremony will take place at 5, ending the fair.

Adult tickets cost $5 on Friday and Saturday and $6 on Sunday. Children under 10 can enjoy the fair for $1.
