WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. — The Mount Greylock Regional School Building Committee invites the public to its meeting on Thursday, March 26, at 5:30 p.m., which will feature a presentation and Q&A beginning at 7 p.m. by Design Partnership of Cambridge, the architect firm selected to conduct the school's feasibility study.

The meeting will take place in the school's Meeting Room.

This session will kick off the Feasibility Study process, which consists of a thorough assessment of the school building's needs and deficiencies as well as proposing alternatives for improvement.

"We invite everyone from the community to share their perspective and ideas in whatever form they prefer — in person, via email or through our red suggestion boxes located in town halls and public libraries," Chairman Mark Schiek said. "The more minds we tap, the better the investment we will make."

In addition to Thursday's meeting at the school, community members can learn about the process through the Building Committee's website.

Those interested in participating are welcome to provide input at the meeting, email Shiek (schiek68@yahoo.com), co-Chairwoman Paula Consolini (pconsoli@williams.edu) or School Committee Chairwoman Carrie Greene (cgreene@williams.edu) or drop their comments in one of the Mount Greylock Suggestion Boxes located in the Williamstown and Lanesborough town halls and libraries.

Design Partnership of Cambridge was selected through a careful process proscribed by the Massachusetts School Building Authority which began last fall. Nine prequalified firms submitted proposals that were reviewed and ranked in early January by a subcommittee of the school's Building Committee.

The Building Committee then sent three representatives to participate in the MSBA Designer Selection Panel. In late February, the panel interviewed the three firms selected as finalists, voting shortly afterward. The representatives from Mount Greylock were unanimous in favoring Design Partnership as the top choice.
