Williams Baseball, Men's Lacrosse Fall

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass – Nick Cunningham's strong outing led the Westfield State baseball team to a 7-1 win over Williams (6-9) in midweek action Tuesday afternoon at the Ephs' Bobby Coombs Field.
 
Both teams scratched a run across in the 1st, but the visiting Owls (10-2) scored six unanswered.
 
Cunningham scattered nine hits and struck out four to earn the win.
 
Williams returns to action on Friday, when it opens up a NESCAC West series with rival Amherst. The Ephs are scheduled to play a single game at Amherst Friday at 4 p.m. before returning to Bobby Coombs Field for a Saturday doubleheader at 1.
 
MEN'S LACROSSE
CLINTON, N.Y. – The Hamilton men's lacrosse team handed Williams a 10-6 loss on Tuesday.
 
It was the third straight loss for the Ephs (7-3, 4-3 NESCAC).
 
Steven Kiesel had a hat trick for Williams, which got 13 saves from Dan Whittam.
 
John Zimmerman had a goal and four assists for Hamilton (8-4, 4-4).
 
Williams travels to Wesleyan on Saturday.
