NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Mount Greylock Regional School graduate Rob Buffis pitched two innings of relief to earn the victory in an 8-4 win for the North Adams SteepleCats on Thursday night at Joe Wolfe Field.

 

Buffs struck out one without allowing a hit or a walk as the ‘Cats improved to 6-4 with the win over the Vermont Mountaineers.

 

Jim Haley went 2-for-4 with a double, and Michael Babb drove in two runs for North Adams, which cashed in on four Vermont errors.

 

The SteepleCats jumped out to a 6-0 lead in the bottom of the first and went ahead 8-2 in the fifth before Vermont scored three in the last three innings.
