NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Northern Berkshire Community Coalition’s (nbCC) UNITY Youth Leadership Program is creating a community coloring book and is looking for art submissions by local artists.

The mission of this project is to create a tangible collection of art by the community for the purposes of stress relief, and to inspire positive thinking.

“We are excited to have such a creatively charged Youth Leadership Program group this year that is dedicated to finding community solutions through art,” said Adam Tobin, program associate for UNITY.

A call for art is open to anyone in the community. Acceptable art forms include visual art, and short original poems, lyrics, or quotes. Work must be appropriate for community use, though mildly complex is acceptable. Visual art must be colorable, not excessively shadowed, and original. Work must be able to be scanned and copied. The coloring book will be sized 8 1/2 by 11 inches, and will have 1 inch margins. Vertical or horizontal orientation of the piece is up to the artist. All art must be submitted on or before March 31.

Work can be dropped off at the Northern Berkshire Community Coalition (61 Main St, North Adams Suite 218) or by email to Jess Sweeney, jsweeney@nbccoalition.org. For further questions, please call Jess Sweeney at nbCC at 413-663-7588.
