Paris Pitches One-Hitter for Adams Community Bank

LANESBOROUGH, Mass. -- Derek Paris threw a one-hitter to lead Adams Community Bank to an 8-0 win over Countryside Landscaping in Cal Ripken Baseball action on Thursday.
 
Paris struck out eight and allowed just two walks and an infield hit and picked off two runners at second base.
 
At the plate, Paris, Anthony Welch and Miles Cece each went 2-for-3. Paris and Paris and Welch each doubled, and Cece drove in a pair of runs.
 
Collin Booth earned the hit for Countryside.
 
Williamstown Police Edge Carbone
WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. -- Williamstown Police moved to 3-1 on the year with a 5-3 victory over Pownal, Vt.’s, Carbone Auto Plaza
 
 Jack Gitterman and Xander Axt led the offense for Police with Gitterman collecting three hits and an RBI and Axt with two hits and an RBI, including his first career home run.
 
Jack Cangelosi pitched 4-2/3 for Police and Gitterman got the final four outs for his first career victory on the mound. In the field, Quinn Mcdermott, Axt and Gitterman turned a key double play in the fourth inning to help Police keep the lead.
