Polumbo Homer Lifts Williamstown Police in North County Title Game

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. -- Joshua Polumbo hit a two-out, two-run home run in the bottom of the sixth inning to give Williamstown Police a 13-12, walkoff win over Pownal, Vt.’s, Carbone Auto Plaza on Friday in the North Berkshire County Cal Ripken Championship game.
 
Polumbo drove in four runs, and Thomas Martin had two hits and two RBIs for Police.
 
Oscar Low, Polumbo and Jack Cangelosi teamed up to earn the win on the mound.
 
Tristan Gardner and Matt Wasielewski each hit two run home runs for Pownal, and Caleb Greene had three hits to lead Pownal's offense. Gardner and Wasielewski shared mound duties for Pownal.
 
The County Championship will be held Saturday, at 6 p.m. at Bud Anderson Field in Williamstown.
