NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — There are several forums and debates being held over the next several weeks for candidates running for the state Legislature.

Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts hosts a debate at the Church Street Center beginning at 7 p.m. sharp on Wednesday for state Senate candidates.

The three candidates seeking the Democratic nomination — Rinaldo Del Gallo, Andrea Harrington and Adam Hinds — and the sole Republican candidate Christine Canning-Wilson have been invited to attend.

The moderator will be Margo Bowden, president of the Williamstown League of Women Voters, and questions will be asked by a panel of local journalists, including from iBerkshires.com, and from the audience.

Each candidate will be allowed a three-minute opening statement and will take turns answering questions with responses from other candidates.

Third District House candidates running for the Democratic nomination, Tricia Farley-Bouiver and Michael Bloomberg, will appear on "Good Morning, Pittsfield" (89.7 WTBR FM) Thursday morning with host John Krol. The program runs from 7:30 to 8:30 a.m. and will also be available on Pittsfield Community Television's Channel 16 and rebroadcast on PCTV at 11 p.m. on Thursday.

First United Methodist Church of Pittsfield will host a forum on "Workers and Poverty" with the state Senate candidates on Tuesday, Aug. 23, from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. The Rev. Quinton Chin will moderate; the forum is sponsored by Independent Voters Committee, a project of the Berkshire County Workers Benefit Council.

Del Gallo, Harrington and Hinds will debate on Monday, Aug. 29, at 5:30 p.m. at the Mahaiwe Performing Arts Center in Great Barrington sponsored by the Berkshire Edge, Berkshire Record and Great Barrington Town Democratic Committee. The event will be moderated by Berkshire Edge Editor David Scribner and Berkshire Record News Editor Terry Cowgill. A reception will be held afterward at the Castle Street Cafe.

The Dalton Senior Center hosts a forum for candidates on Tuesday, Aug. 30, at 6 p.m.

United Cerebral Palsy of Berkshire County and the UCP Self Advocate group are hosting a state Senate debate on Friday, Sept. 2, at 5 p.m. in the community room at 535 Curran Highway. It will be moderated by Executive Director Salvatore Garozzo and will include the three Democratic candidates and the Republican candidate answering questions of interest to the region.

Rainbow Seniors of Berkshire County and the Age-Friendly Berkshires Task Force will host a candidates forum on Saturday, Sept. 3, from 2 to 4 p.m. in the Berkshire Athenaeum auditorium in Pittsfield. The candidates will answer questions of interest to senior citizens and the LGBTQ community.

Expected to attend are state Senate candidates Rinaldo Del Gallo, Andrea Harrington, Adam Hinds and Christine Canning-Wilson; and state Third District House candidates for Tricia Farley-Bouiver and Michael Bloomberg, both running in the Democratic primary, and independent Christopher Connell. RSVPs are encouraged at Ed@rainbowseniors.org.

The primary election is Thursday, Sept. 8; the general election is Tuesday, Nov. 8.
