Williams Men's, Women's Soccer Blank Bates

LEWISTON, Maine -- Alison Lu and Kristi Kirshe each had a goal and an assist Sunday to lead the Williams College women’s soccer team to a 2-0 win over Bates.
 
The Ephs (6-0-1, 4-0-1 NESCAC) got back on the winning track after settling for a tie at Amherst the day before.
 
Olivia Barnhill made five saves for Williams, which goes to Connecticut College on Saturday.
 
Men’s Soccer
LEWISTON, Maine -- Malcolm Moutenot and Mark Sisco-Tolomeo each scored a goal on Sunday to lead the Williams men’s soccer team to a 2-0 win over Bates.
 
Christian Alcorn made one save to earn the shutout for the Ephs (6-1-1, 3-1 NESCAC).
 
Williams goes to Connecticut College on Saturday.
 
Field Hockey
LEWISTON, Maine -- Rachel Brisette scored in overtime Sunday to give the Williams field hockey team a 2-1 win over Bates.
 
Alex Bennett scored a goal and set up Brissette’s game-winner for the Ephs (4-3, 2-2 NESCAC), who got three saves from Margaret Draper.
 
Williams hosts Springfield on Wednesday.
 
Men’s Golf
WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. -- Sam Goldenring carded a 1-over-par 72 on Sunday to finish third as an individual and lead the Williams College men’s golf team to a first place finish at the Williams Fall Invitational.
 
Will Kannegieser also finished at 72 on Sunday; he placed fifth overall as the Ephs placed five golfers in the top 20 of the 18-team event.
 
First-day leader Trinity saw four of its five golfers post higher rounds on Sunday than they did in Saturday’s opener, allowing Williams to overtake the Bantams and win the event by five strokes, 599-604.
