PITTSFIELD, Mass. -- Ty HIggins hit four 3-pointers and scored 27 points Sunday to lead the Housatonic boys travel basketball team to a 49-37 win over Greylock in the championship game of the CYC Tournament.

“Housy really put it to us early with their full court press, and we fell behind, 9-0, in the first couple minutes,” Greylock coach Rick Paris said. “Then by the end of one, we were down ,16-4. We made a few runs in the second, but Housy then was able to extend the lead in the third.

“Higgins had a great game, and obviously we couldn't stop him.”

Oscar Low scored nine points, and Derek Paris and Oliver Kocsis added eight apiece for Greylock.

Low scored 19 for Greylock in Sunday’s 67-42 win over host CYC in the semi-finals. Derek Paris scored 14, Malcom Waynick added 11, and Colin Doyle scored 10 in the win.

“Our kids were all over the boards all game long,” Rick Paris said. “Oscar Low had  an outstanding game. He was all over the place, grabbing boards, going to the hoop. Which in turn got him to the foul line many times where he converted eight of his last nine free throws.”

CYC was led by Diego Cortez with 11, and Nick Harrington with six.

The Greylock boys went 3-0 in pool play, beating North Adams, CYD and St. Francis.

Low and Paris scored 11 and 10, respectively, in a 50-25 win over North Adams, which got nine from Anthony Pettengill.

Paris led the way with 23 points in a 48-30 win over CYC in pool play. Harrington had eight and James Connors scored seven  in that game for the hosts.

Greylock started the tourney with a 45-7 win over St. Francis in which Thomas Martin was the high scorer with eight.

“Our kids played hard all weekend and never let up even when they were down,” Rick Paris said. “I’m just very proud of how our boys. They really put their heart and souls into every game. I can't ask for anything more than that.”
