OAKVILLE, ONt. -- Paul Roeder and Panayiotis Constantopoulos led the Cages 14-and-under travel baseball team to a 16-1 win over Bloordale Bombers on Saturday at the Canada Classic in a game shortened to four innings.

Roeder had two hits, including a double, and drove in five runs. Constantopoulos drove in three runs on a triple and a single.

Oscar Low also doubled for the Cages.

"We were able to hit and run," Cages coach Rick Paris said. "Whenever we got players on we took advantage on the base paths with 11 stolen bases. We just kept pressuring them to make plays."

Roeder, Derek Paris and Landen Jamula combined for the win on the mound. Paris went to the hill with the bases loaded and two out in the second and got a comebacker to end the threat.

Later Saturday, the Cages team faced its strongest challenge of the northern trip against the Milton Mets.

The game was tied, 2-2, in the top of the fourth when rain forced its suspension. The contest will be finished on Sunday.
