ADAMS, Mass. — The Berkshire Arts & Technology Charter Public School, a tuition-free public school serving students in grades six through 12 from a number of Massachusetts communities within the Berkshires, is currently enrolling new students in grades six through 10 for the 2017-18 school year.

Recent action by BART's Board of Trustees and by the Massachusetts Commissioner of Elementary and Secondary Education resulted in a change in the school's enrollment policy. Previously, students new to BART could be admitted to grades six through nine. Now, however, students may be admitted into BArT to grade 10 as well.

"As a college preparatory charter public school, BArT provides an engaging educational experience that readies students for college," said Dr. Jay White, the executive director of BArT. "Admitting students as late as grade 10 permits us to offer BArT's marvelous college prep experience to more students while ensuring the students are in the program long enough to benefit fully from it."

The next enrollment deadline for 2017-18 will be Friday, Aug. 9, at noon. More information on BART’s enrollment and lottery process can be found online. Interested families should contact BArT Enrollment Counselor, Monique Nottke, by telephone at 413-743-7311 (ext. 732) or by email.
