WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. -- The three-day Oracle ITA New England Regional Women's Tennis Championship came to a close Sunday as champions were crowned in both singles and doubles.

Though Ephs appeared in both the singles semifinals and doubles finals, it was Wesleyan that secured titles in both brackets. Wesleyan's Eudice Chong emerged victorious in the singles bracket and then went on to pair up with partner Victoria Yu and earn the doubles title for the second straight year.

Chong was the top seeded singles player, and alongside Yu was the number one doubles seed.

Men's Tennis
MIDDLEBURY, VT. – The third and final day of the 2017 ITA New England Regional Championships concluded Sunday with finals in both singles and doubles categories.

Moving in to the final day, the Ephs’ still had one remaining pair vying for victory in doubles play. Alex Taylor and Brian Grodecki were seeded number two and had steadily moved through competitors in the first three rounds of play. Sunday, they lost, 8-6, to the eventual champions from Bowdoin.

The conclusion of singles play ended more successfully for the remaining Williams’ competitors.

Grodecki and Austin Barr faced off in the semi-finals, and Grodecki edged out his teammate in a very close match with a score of 7-5, 6-7(5), 6-4.

This bittersweet victory, was followed by a finals match up against Wesleyan University’s Andrew Finkelman. A decisive 6-2, 6-4 victory earned Grodecki a win and the title of champion for the singles division.

With the conclusion of the ITA New England Regional Championships, the Ephs only have one more opportunity for competition in the abbreviated season. The MIT Invitational, beginning on Oct. 13, will feature both singles and doubles play.
