Williams' Anderson Posts Shutout Win

WATERVILLE, Maine -- Marissa Anderson stopped 41 shots Saturday to lead the Williams College women’s hockey team to a 3-0 win over Colby.
 
Abby Brustad had three assists for the Ephs, who got goals from Amanda Reisman, Olivia Stokes and Candace Lu.
 
Williams (8-3-3, 3-2-3 NESCAC) goes to Manhattanville on Wednesday.
 
Women’s Basketball
LEWISTON, Maine -- Kristin Fechtelkotter scored 17 points to lead Williams to a 56-44 win over Bates.
 
Amanni Fernandez scored 11 points and grabbed a game-high 12 rebounds for the Ephs.
 
Williams (10-6, 2-2) goes to Amherst on Wednesday.
 
Men’s Basketball
WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. -- James Heskett scored 23 points, and Bobby Casey added 19 to lead Williams to a 79-68 win over Bates.
 
Matthew Karpowicz pulled down a team-high 11 rebounds for the Ephs.
 
Williams (12-3, 3-1) hosts Amherst on Wednesday.
 
Wrestling
WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. --  Williams earned a 12th place finish out of the 16 teams at the Budd Whitehill National Duals on Saturday.
 
In their first match Saturday, The Ephs were pitted against Rochester Institute of Technology.  
 
Senior Matt Morris maintained his undefeated streak with a 7-2 victory over his opponent at 125 pounds to put Williams up, 3-0.  A Rochester Institute of Technology victory in the 133 pound division brought the score to 3-4.  However, junior Alex Pankhurst put Williams back into the lead with an 8-5 triumph at the 141 weight class.
 
After that, only sophomore Luke Anselmi’s 9-5 victory at 174 gave points to Williams, and RIT prevailed, 31-9.
 
In Williams’ second match of the day, the Ephs fell to Wisconsin-Stevens Point, 42-6. Morris dropped a 10-3 decision. The bright spot for Williams was a pin by Pankhurst, 2 minutes, 12 seconds into his match.
