MIDDLEBURY, Vt. --- The Williams College Alpine ski team put down some solid slalom skiing on Day 1 of the NCAA Regional Championship at the Middlebury Ski Bowl Friday.

Senior Marc Talbott once again lead the charge with a ninth place finish, with a combined time just 2.47 seconds behind winner Tanguy Nef of Dartmouth College. Bryan Bailey made the top 30 finishing in 24th, while sophomores Cole Janco and William Kannegieser were close behind in 32nd and 33rd, respectively.

"The team has continued to grow in slalom," Williams coach Kelsey Levine said. :It is great to see Marc lead the team, stepping up his result each slalom. It is great to have that kind of pace. Bryan has consistently put fast slalom on the hill and he is starting to string some full runs together. Cole has been a great addition to that side of the scoreboard."

The women had two skiers finish within the top 30; freshman Madeleine Dekko and junior Isabel Torres were 22nd and 27th, respectively. Anna Bruce, Makena Jones, Clara Hathorne, and Gibson Donnan finished 42nd, 43rd and 45th, respectively.

"I was excited excited to see a new level of intensity from the women's team," Levine said. "Maddie and Izi took much more risk second run than they have been in the past few races."

The ski team now sits in 6th place with the Nordic team going into the final day of the carnival season on Saturday. The Alpine team will race the giant slalom at Middlebury Ski Bowl.
