Williams Men's, Women's Soccer Fall in NESCAC Finals

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. -- Ellie Greenberg scored in the 68th minute Sunday to lift the Middlebury College women's soccer team to a 1-0 win over Williams in the New England Small College Athletic Conference title game.
 
The Panthers generated just two shots on goal against the Ephs and keeper Olivia Barnhill.
 
But Greenberg's fourth goal of the season proved to be the difference as Middlebury avenged a loss at Williams in the teams' regular season finale.
 
Williams suffered its first loss of the season and fell to 15-1-2.
 
Men's Soccer
AMHERST, Mass. -- After battling for 110 minutes of a scoreless tie, the Colby Mules kicked their way to a penalty kick shootout win over Williams in Sunday's NESCAC title game.
 
Ethan Fabricant converted his try in the fifth round of PKs to give the Mule a 4-3 advantage. And Colby freshman Matt Johnson, who came off the bench for the shootout, stopped the next Williams try to give his team the confernece championship.
 
Williams' Aaron Schein made three saves in regulation and overtime.
 
Williams went to 8-5-2 on the season.
 
Men's Cross Country
BOSTON, Mass. -- Williams' Jacob Kahrs finished in 33 minutes, 43 seconds to place 42nd and pace the Ephs at Sunday's 10-kilometer New England Cross Country Championships at Franklin Park.
 
Williams placed seventh in the 14-team field of mostly professionals and running clubs.
 
Women's Cross Country
BOSTON, Mass. -- Williams' Abigail Scott ran a time of 23:51 over 6 kilometers at Franklin Park to place 46th and lead the Ephs to an eighth-place finish at the New England Cross Country Championships.
