PITTSFIELD, Mass. — Greylock Federal Credit Union has announced the appointment of Colleen White Holmes to the credit union's volunteer board of directors.

"Colleen will be a strong voice for our members," board Chair Stanley Walczyk said. "Her commitment to community development will be a great addition to our team. We are grateful that she has joined the Greylock family."

Holmes is president and CEO of Berkshire Children and Families, a community-based organization promoting the well-being of children and the strength of families in Berkshire County and the Pioneer Valley.

Her career has focused on community and organizational development. Most recently, Colleen was the chief membership and strategy officer for the Girl Scouts of Central and Western Massachusetts, where she led organizational strategy, marketing, programs and mission-delivery for 12,000 girls and volunteers across 186 communities. Previously, as a consultant primarily with New Haven Consulting Group in Connecticut, Colleen helped meet the growth and development needs of national and local organizations in transportation, finance, and human services for seven years.

As an executive manager with Human Resources Unlimited leading human resources, continuous improvement, and public relations, she helped advance the work of ensuring accessible vocational and employment opportunities for people with developmental and psychiatric disabilities.

Holmes earned her bachelor’s degree in public and international affairs from Princeton University and received her master of business administration from American International College. She has served her community through various boards and committees, including the board of trustees of Baystate Health Systems, and its governance and quality committees; Women United and its steering committee; and the Springfield Public Forum, as chair of the strategy task force.

A former dancer and choreographer, she has also volunteered as a dance teacher for many years. She is a commissioned writer and speaker who has presented at events for colleges and businesses.
