Williams Softball Downs Skidmore

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. -- Mara Kipnis homered twice and drove in five runs Wednesday to lead the Williams College softball team to an 11-5 win over Skidmore.
 
Emma Corbett tripled, and Kirstin Mapes and Gabi Medvene-Cirigliano each had two hits with a double.
 
Emma Corbett struck out four to earn the win in the circle.
 
The second game of a scheduled double-header was called because of darkness in the third inning with the Ephs up, 4-0.
 
Williams (16-4) goes to Middlebury on Friday.
 
Men's Lacrosse
MEDFORD, Mass. -- Tufts held off a Williams fourth-quarter rallly to earn a 15-14 win.
 
The Ephs (7-2, 3-2 NESCAC) outscored the Jumbos, 4-2, in the fourth. Cory Lund scored one of his game-high four goals in the quarter.
 
Jared Strauss, Kevin Stump and Brendan Hoffman each had a hat trick for Williams, which got 12 saves from Harry Gahagan.
 
Williams hosts Amherst on Saturday afternoon.
 
Women's Lacrosse
WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. -- Tufts (9-0, 5-0) got four goals from Emily Games en route to a 21-13 win over Williams.
 
Emma TenBarge and Kara Wollmers each scored four for the Ephs (5-4, 1-4), who got 14 saves from Kami Cisneros.
 
Williams goes to Amherst on Saturday.
