CORTLAND, N.Y. -- The Williams College softball team Friday scored two runs in the bottom of the first, and Rebecca Duncan struck out 11 to make the lead stand up for a 2-0 victory over Framingham State in the first round of the NCAA Division III tournament.

 

Duncan scattered six hits and walked just two en route to her 13th win of the season.

 

She also helped her cause with a two-run single to score Mara Kipnis and Mackenzie Murphy in the first.

 

Williams (34-5) plays St. John Fisher in the Cortland subregional on Saturday at 11 a.m.
