NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — The Northern Berkshire Community Coalition invites the community to attend an open house to celebrate the opening of the Beacon Recovery Community Center on Tuesday, May 14, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Green, located at 85 Main St.

A new program of the coalition, it provides peer support to those seeking and maintaining recovery from addiction. BRCC is a peer-led effort that offers support groups, connections to networks that can assist anyone seeking recovery, and opportunities to socialize with others.

The community center has open hours on Wednesdays from 10 to 2 at the Green and is free and open to all.

"We are proud that the BRCC is a space where members can feel accepted, uplifted and empowered with supports from their peers," said coalition Executive Director Amber Besaw. "We invite the community to celebrate the opening, learn about BRCC's purpose and offerings, and also meet the NBCC staff and volunteer peer leaders who have spearheaded the opening of the center."

Light refreshments will be served. Welcoming remarks by Besaw will begin at 5:30, followed by remarks from the center's peer leaders.

The Beacon Recovery Community Center is a safe and welcoming community of people in recovery, their families, and friends. BRCC's goal is to nurture and support people in all stages and on all paths of recovery through peer-led, holistic approaches by sharing life experiences, skills, and social connections.
