WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. -- Several Berkshire County residents earned gold medals in the Bay State Winter Games figure skating competition that concluded on Sunday afternoon.

 

On Sunday, Pittsfield Figure Skating Club members Caroline Gillette and Carly Lyon placed first and second, respectively, in the Excel Preliminary Girls Free Skating Group 2.

 

Gillette was marked first by five of five judges on the group's panel to place first of five competitors.

 

Daniella Santamarina, also of the Pittsfield Figure Skating Club, Saturday took home a gold medal in the Excel Intermediate Ladies Free Skate.

 

Christmas Brook Figure Skating Club's Samantha Taxter, skating in the ISI division of the competition, took first place in the Open FS Silver class.

 

Also competing under the auspices of the ISI, Christmas Brook's Katie Malone-Smith won the Artistic FS5 class.

 

In USFS competition Malone-Smith (PFSC) was second in the Adult Bronze Ladies Free Skate.

 

Shaleigh Levesque (Christmas Brook) won a silver medal in the Excel Juvenile Plus Girls Free Skate.

 

Christmas Brook's Danielle Furlong earned a bronze medal in the Adult Silver Ladies Free Skate.
