Williams Men's Basketball Edges Amherst on Road

AMHERST, Mass. -- Williams College's Henry Feinberg hit a pair of free throws with three seconds left, and an Amherst 3-pointer with one second left was off the mark as the Ephs beat the Mammoths, 72-69, on Saturday.
 
Matt Karpowicz scored 21 points and grabbed 11 rebounds, and Spencer Spivy scored 19. Jovan Jones and Feinberg finished with 12 and 10, respectively.
 
The Ephs (7-6, 1-1 NESCAC) go to St. Joseph's of Connecticut on Tuesday.
 
Women's Basketball
WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. -- Amherst's Madeline Eck scored 24 points to lead her team to a 62-51 win over Williams.
 
Maggie Meehan scored 15 for the Ephs (12-2, 1-1), who host Smith on Tuesday.
 
Men's Hockey
WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. -- Trinity's Michael Grande scored midway through the third period to give the Bantams a 3-2 win over Williams.
 
Nick Altmann and Will Somers scored for the Ephs, who got 23 saves from Evan Ruschil.
 
Williams (8-4, 6-2) hosts Albertus Magnus on Friday.
 
Women's Hockey
HARTFORD, Conn. -- Chloe Heiting stopped 21 shots to backstop Williams to a 3-0 win over Trinity.
 
Brianna Hill and Gabi Montembault each scored, and Meghan Halloran had an assist and an empty-net goal for the Ephs (7-4-1, 4-2), who go to Amherst on Friday.
