Williams Men's Hockey Advances in NESCAC Tourney

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass.. -- The top-seeded Williams College men's hockey team Saturday jumped out to a 3-0 lead and held on for a 3-2 win over Connecticut College in the quarter-finals of the NESCAC tournament.
 
Mac Carso, Will Somers and Nick VanBelle scored to give the Ephs (17-7-1) a 3-0 lead after the first period.
 
Conn College came back with a pair of goals in the second but got nothing else past Cosimo Lazzarino, who finished with 34 saves.
 
Williams Saturday hosts No. 5 Wesleyan (13-11-1) in the league semi-finals.
 
Women's Hockey
CLINTON, N.Y. -- Hamilton's Michaela Giuttari scored with three seconds left to give the fourth-seeded Continentals a 4-3 win over Williams in the NESCAC quarter-finals.
 
Meghan Halloran scored twice for Williams (12-9-4), which got 38 saves from Chloe Heitling.
 
Hamilton trailed, 3-1, after Halloran's power play goal with 6:20 left in the second period, but the hosts scored three unanswered goals to move on to next weekend's semi-finals.
