NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Second Chance Composting is offering two free events for community members of all ages to bring their pumpkins after Halloween to smash them. The first event is in Williamstown on Thursday Nov. 2, from 5:30pm - 7:30pm at the Log by Ramunto's, 78 Spring Street. The second event is in North Adams on Friday Nov. 3, from 5:00pm - 8:00pm at Hotel Downstreet, 40 Main Street as part of First Fridays. PITTSFIELD, Mass. — Community Legal Aid is kicking off its annual Berkshire County Access to Justice Campaign, which seeks to bring legal help to residents in the county facing a variety of civil legal problems. Over the last year, Community Legal Aid's staff of attorneys and paralegals helped more than 700 Berkshire County elderly and low-income clients last year, impacting an estimated 1,750 residents trying to avoid homelessness, seeking safety from violence, and others fighting for life's necessities. WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. — On Saturday, Oct. 28, visit the Clark Art Institute in costume to celebrate all things spooky, silly, and anything in between. From 2–4 pm, visitors are invited to design their own masks in the lower level of the Clark Center. Take advantage of the last chance to see the exhibition "Humane Ecology: Eight Positions" before it closes on Oct. 29. Williamstown Community Preschool Installs New Signage |
WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. — The Williamstown Community Preschool began sprucing up its new home by hiring local sign maker Lindsay Neathawk, owner of Neathawk Signs and Design, to create a 3D sign for the business.
Neathawk installed the sign late Monday afternoon that features multicolored hand prints from the children as the leaves of a tree poking out of the top. Underneath the name and address "a place to grow" is written. The children's hand prints were taken at the school and Neathawk then scanned them into her design programs to create the sign.
