Williams Men's Basketball, Women's Hockey Win

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. -- Cole Prowitt-Smith scored 16 points Monday to lead the Williams College men's basketball team to a 68-56 win over Vassar.   Spencer Spivy and Declan Porter each scored 11 points for Williams (12-0), which goes to Amherst on Friday.   Women's Hockey WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. -- Maddie Tix had a goal and an assist Monday to lead Williams to a 5-0 win over Manhattanville.   Erin Pye made 19 saves to get the win in goal for Williams (6-4), which goes to Wesleyan on Friday.

SERVPRO Donates Golf Tournament Proceeds to SVHC

BEAT Green Drinks Goes Countywide

PITTSFIELD, Mass. — After nearly 15 years of hosting their monthly Pittsfield Green Drinks gathering, Berkshire Environmental Action Team (BEAT) is expanding their Green Drinks from Pittsfield to county-wide, making it 'Berkshire Green Drinks'.   Before the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, Pittsfield Green Drinks took place exclusively at a restaurant or pub in Pittsfield. Starting in 2023, BEAT will begin changing the location of their in-person gatherings to different towns throughout Berkshire County every month.    They're also changing the monthly events to the second Wednesday of every month instead of the third Tuesday.   BEAT hopes to offer

Avian Influenza Circulating in Vermont

MONTPELIER, Vt. — The Vermont Fish and Wildlife Department is reminding the public to take precautions around wild birds, as highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI) continues to circulate in the state.   Backyard flocks of domestic birds in Caledonia and Lamoille Counties have had to be destroyed after exposure to the virus, commonly known as avian flu.   "Highly pathogenic avian influenza has been detected in more than 70 wild birds since March, with cases reported most months and in every region of the state," said Wildlife Program Manager David Sausville.  "Many exposures come from migrating birds, so we expect case numbers to drop as winter
