SVHC Enacts New Workplace Violence Policy

BENNINGTON, Vt. — Southwestern Vermont Health Care (SVHC) has implemented a new Zero Tolerance Policy for its hospital campus, medical office building and offsite practices.   The policy and communications plan is a proactive approach detailing what actions and language are not tolerated to address the workplace violence trend currently occurring at healthcare institutions across the United States.        The American Hospital Association (AHA) reports that 44 percent of nurses report an increase in incidence of physical violence in the workplace since the pandemic and 68 percent report an increase in verbal abuse. Williams Men's Basketball Tops SUNY-New Paltz

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. – Alex Lee scored 25 points Tuesday to lead the Williams College men’s basketball team to a 63-57 win over SUNY-New Paltz.   Cole Prowitt-Smith scored 11, and Evan Glatzer grabbed nine rebounds in the win.   Williams (20-3) finishes the regular season on Sunday at Conn College.   Photos from this game here.

Williams Students Lead Tour of Clark Collection

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. — On Friday, Feb. 10, Williams College art history graduate students will guide a conversation on the Clark's permanent collection.   In a new program, Fresh Takes, students in the Williams College/Clark Graduate Program in the History of Art share their thoughts on an object in the collection through the perspective of new scholarship.     Tours begin in the Museum Pavilion at 12 pm.    Admission to the Clark is free through March 2023. No registration is required.

The Williamstown Fire District recently released a "Comparison of Size of Proposed Williamstown Fire Station to Other Fire Stations" chart on their official website. The purpose of this data was to educate residents about the sizes of fire stations recently built in the region compared to what Williamstown is proposing to gain support.

During the Jan. 25, 2023, Fire District Prudential Committee meeting (recorded by willinet.org) I asked the District if they knew the information on their data chart was incorrect. For example, under the section "Station Size," the communities of Holden (36,450 square feet), Sharon (42,460 square feet), Medfield (41,022

Clark Art: Start With Art

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. — On Saturday, Feb. 11 at 10 am, the Clark Art Institute's Start with Art series continues.    February's free event is themed to movement. Designed for preschoolers, Start with Art offers themed talks, gallery guides, and art-making activities. This program is best suited for three- to six-year-olds and their caregivers.   Admission to the Clark is free through March 2023. No registration is required.    The next Start with Art program, focused on movement, will be held on Saturday, March 11 at 12 pm.

Gerig Leads Williams Women to Comeback Win in Fourth

Clark Airs 'Much Ado About Nothing'
