'It's a Wonderful Life' with New Executive of Images

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. — Images Cinema presents "It's a Wonderful Life" with new Executive Director Dan Hudson on Saturday, Nov. 5, at 4:15 p.m. and Sunday, Nov. 6, at 1 p.m.    Hudson will introduce each show and talk about why "It's a Wonderful Life"  is his favorite film. The Saturday show will be followed by a reception at The Log, down the street from Images Cinema. The reception is included with a ticket to the movie.   Both presentations of the film are free for Images Cinema members. Regular admission prices apply to all others. SVHC Announces DAISY Award Winner

Williamstown Officials Looking at Modifications to Town Meeting

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. — The residents charged with looking at ways to make town meeting more inclusive and productive this month gave an indication of the kinds of modifications on their radar.   Select Board member Randy Fippinger and Town Moderator Elisabeth Goodman attended October's meeting of the Planning Board to update the body and get its feedback about potential changes the town may want to implement.   The conversation around what some perceive as inefficiencies in the current town meeting format are of particular concern to the planners, who in June saw most of their substantive zoning bylaw recommendations referred back to committee without an up or down

Clark Art Airs an HD MET Production: 'La Traviata'

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. — The Metropolitan Opera's broadcast production of "La Traviata" airs at the Clark Art Institute on Saturday, Nov. 5, at 12:55 pm in the second installment of The Met: Live in HD.    The award-winning series of live, high-definition cinema simulcasts features the full live performance along with backstage interviews and commentary. Williamstown Community Preschool Installs New Signage

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. — The Williamstown Community Preschool began sprucing up its new home by hiring local sign maker Lindsay Neathawk, owner of Neathawk Signs and Design, to create a 3D sign for the business.

Neathawk installed the sign late Monday afternoon that features multicolored hand prints from the children as the leaves of a tree poking out of the top. Underneath the name and address "a place to grow" is written. The children's hand prints were taken at the school and Neathawk then scanned them into her design programs to create the sign.
