Clark Art Screens 'Force of Evil'

OTT Taxi Sets Up Livery Service in Williamstown

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. — OTT Taxi has a new home.   But it will not be getting a new name, even though the owner says it is not actually a taxi service.   "We're running a livery service right now," John Lord said on Tuesday morning. Bay State Winter Games Returning to Berkshires

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. — The 2024 Bay State Winter Games Figure Skating Competition will return to the Berkshires for the 37th year Jan. 26-28 at the Williams College Lansing Champman Skating Rink in Williamstown.   Figure Skating The competition will include over 400 performances from skaters representing the United States Figure skating Association and the Ice Sports Industry Skating program. Williamstown Select Board Hears Plan for Updated Skate Park

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. — The Select Board on Monday night heard a presentation from a group that hopes to renovate and upgrade the town's skate park on Stetson Road across from Bud Anderson Field.   Bill MacEwan of the New England Mountain Bike Association told the board that the existing facility is both out of date and in disrepair, with cracks in the asphalt surface that make the existing ramps dangerous for skateboarders and other users of the jumps.   Even leaving aside the deterioration in the 20-year-old facility, it is underutilized, MacEwan said.   "Great intentions when it was built," he said. North Berkshire Waste District Interested In Hydrogen Facility Project

ADAMS, Mass.— Members of the Northern Berkshire Solid Waste Management District (NBSWMD) were intrigued by a plan by Local Power to work towards community-wide decarbonization through a waste hydrogen facility in Western Massachusetts. 

In a presentation on Jan. 11,  Local Power President Paul Fenn told the district members that Local Power helps local governments set up community-wide decarbonization with a focus on localization "as a core strategy in an industry defined by centralized energy and capital sources." 

He said the community choice aggregation firm helped usher in community choice power supply programs to many towns and cities in Berkshire

Composting Company Talks Bettering Municipal Waste at BEAT's Green Drinks

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. — Is composting the answer to municipal waste? John Pitroff of Second Chance Composting believes so.

Earlier this month, community members dove into the world of composting during an event hosted by the Berkshire Environmental Action Teams' Berkshire Green Drinks, which brings in a guest speaker on the second Wednesday of each month.  The hybrid presentation was given at The Barn of the Williams Inn with a virtual option.
