Ghent Playhouse Announces 2023-2024 Season

Clark Art Presents Talk on Edvard Munch

Thunder Three-Peat, Kraken Win Title in Debut Season in BABL

A back-and-forth championship series in the Berkshire Adult Baseball League’s 20-and-over division swung toward the Kraken on a big third-inning swing.   In the 33-and-over division, the league’s best team continued to show why they earned that title by holding on late to take a 3-2 win and a series sweep.   Seamus Morrison struck out five on Sunday morning in Dalton to lead the Berkshire Thunder to a 3-2 win over Tunnel City Freight as the Thunder finished the spring/summer season with a record of 18-0 and the program’s third straight BABL title.   At Hoosac Valley High School, a three-run bomb by Corey Meczywor propelled  the Northern Berkshire Kraken

Potash Pitches River Monsters to Win in BABL Series Opener

Clark Art Screens 'Johnny Guitar'

Habitat for Humanity Making Plans for Williamstown's Summer Street Lot

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. — Northern Berkshire Habitat for Humanity is making plans to develop four single-family homes on a Summer Street residential lot the Affordable Housing Trust acquired in 2015.   To make the project work, the non-profit is hoping the trust can help pay for 300 feet of road to access the homes it wants to build.   Keith Davis of Habitat approached the trustees at their Wednesday meeting to make an initial pitch for $120,000 in financial backing to get the project going.   "The original proposal was two houses on that lot, but the lot is almost 1.75 acres," Davis told the board. Critics of Residential Tax Exemption in Williamstown State Their Case

Williamstown Names Bicycle/Pedestrian Path

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. — The multimodal path from Syndicate Road to the Spruces Park finally has a name.   The Select Board on Monday voted 5-0 to dub the 2.4-mile trail the Mohican Recreational Path, to "recognize and and honor the indigenous people who first settled this area."   "We're anxious to get this done so we can move on to the next steps of doing the public opening piece," Town Manager Robert Menicocci told the board.   Menicocci added that naming the path will help the town build a public awareness campaign around the expected behavior on the trail, including the use of leashes for dogs.   The name itself is a long-discussed
