WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. — The Greylock ABC Fund launched earlier this month with a renewed mission to support the educational development of students in grades pre-K through 12. The Fund, established in partnership with Berkshire Taconic Community Foundation (BTCF), maintains its focus on educational attainment for students of color while extending opportunities to students of low socio-economic status, and program support for multicultural and academic programs that benefit students of all demographic groups. Pittsfield's Striking Out Cancer Event Back for Third YearCommunity submission,

 PITTSFIELD, Mass. -- Area baseball and softball players ages 13 and up are encouraged to participate in the third annual Striking Out Cancer in the Berkshires Event on Saturday, June 24. The day-long baseball and women's softball games will be played at Clapp Park from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. A $10 donation gets you the opportunity to participate in the event. All proceeds go to the Jimmy Fund at Boston's Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. Participants will receive a T-shirt to commemorate the event. Stephanie Boyd, Andrea Bryant, Paul Harsch and incumbent Andrew Hogeland appear on the ballot in the day's only contested race. WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. — A Clarksburg resident was cited by police after a Tuesday accident that sent their car into a home on Main Street, according to a police report. Williamstown police said Jay J. Wright of Hayden Hill Road was traveling east on Main Street (Route 2) at about 4 p.m. when his vehicle veered to the left and crossed the westbound lane near Southworth Street. At the intersection, Wright's 2014 Toyota clipped the front end of a Honda driven by Kareen Annette Honecker of Williamstown, who was on Southworth waiting to turn onto Main Street, according to the report. WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. — The Board of Health on Monday agreed to ask South County's Tri-Town Health Department to review the town's tobacco regulations with an eye toward recommending changes to bring them into alignment with state law. "Back in 2019, the state updated comprehensive state regulations relative to tobacco control, which put some local regulations out of sync with state law," Tri-Town Executive Director James Wilusz told the board at its monthly meeting.
